這張專輯發行後沒多久就獲得廣大回應 在2009年Grammy Award上獲得最佳搖滾專輯獎
Entertainment Weekly magazine稱這專輯為“Coldplay第四張且是最棒的一張專輯 （their fourth and nest album）“
而這首歌更是Coldplay排名英美流行歌排行榜上第一名
Viva La Vida是西班牙文
取自20世紀墨西哥藝術家Frida Kahlo 1954年逝世前最後之作
翻譯成英文為“long live life“
歌詞中大量採用歷史與宗教概念
旋律則建立在不斷重複的弦樂彈奏上
